Sourcing & Supply

The shortest supply chain in colored stones.

Most stones pass through four companies before they reach America. Ours pass through one family: licensed gem exporters from Sri Lanka, shipping worldwide since the 1980s.

Origins

Two origins. One standard.

Sri Lanka has been our source since the 1950s. Africa followed in the second generation, through our own agents on the ground, years before East African supply became fashionable. Both streams of rough arrive at the same workshop, pass through the same hands, and leave under the same grading standard. Precious or semi-precious, we can supply any stone, in any quantity.

Sri Lanka

Sapphire, spinel, hessonite. Bought as rough, at the source, by people who have done it for three generations.

East Africa

Our own agents in Tanzania and other source countries. Deep supply in sapphire, tourmaline, and garnet, bought where it leaves the ground.

Two origins protect your supply. If one source slows down, the other holds.

The Workshop

One roof, start to finish.

Sorting, cut planning, cutting, polishing, and grading all happen in one workshop in Gintota, by hand, by artisans the family has worked with for decades. Nothing is sent to outside cutters.

The hands that plan the cut answer for the finished stone. That is why our parcels match our papers.

Papers

Every stone, ready for the lab.

Export License

We are licensed gem exporters, registered with the National Gem & Jewellery Authority of Sri Lanka. Our family has exported under license since the 1980s.

Certification

GIA, AGL, GRS, or Lotus Gemology reports, arranged before shipping, on request, for any stone.

Disclosure

Every treatment in writing, as standard. Heat, clarity work, everything, before you ask.

Unheated Stones

Called unheated only when the lab would agree.

Export Papers

Every shipment leaves Sri Lanka with National Gem & Jewellery Authority clearance and arrives with full customs papers. We export every month.

We assume every stone will be tested. We cut, grade, and price on that assumption.
