The Gemstones

Cut by our hands. Stated in writing.

Every variety below is available as single stones, sorted lots, or calibrated sizes cut to order, precious or semi-precious, in any quantity. Every treatment is written down before you buy.

I

Blue Sapphire

Ceylon · East Africa
Oval-cut Ceylon blue sapphire on white gem paper
Origin

Ceylon blues from cornflower to royal, bought as rough on the island. East African blues, bought by our own agents, for depth of supply. We carry both, and we never mix the labels.

Cutting & Papers

Hand cut in our workshop in Gintota. We hold heated and unheated stock, and the heat status is written on every stone before you ask. GIA or AGL reports on request.

Bought by designers building engagement lines, and by dealers who stock certified stones.

II

Ruby

Sri Lanka · Selected African Sources
Cushion-cut pinkish-red ruby on white gem paper
Origin

Sri Lankan material runs pinkish red to deep red, joined by selected African stones. The trade pays a premium for true red. We grade inside that range honestly, and we price the same way.

Cutting & Papers

Untreated Ceylon ruby is rare. We call a stone untreated only when it is. Every treatment is on paper, on every stone, before payment.

Bought by estate jewelers, collectors, and designers who need the paper to be true.

III

Tourmaline

Tanzania · Mozambique · Sri Lanka
Emerald-cut bi-color tourmaline, green to pink, on white gem paper
Origin

From our agents in Tanzania and Mozambique, plus Sri Lankan supply. Green, blue, pink, and two-color stones: the widest palette we cut.

Cutting & Papers

Cut for color first, in our own facility. Every parcel is sorted and graded by the same hands that planned the cut.

Bought by custom designers who need a wide, reliable color range.

IV

Aquamarine

Sri Lanka · East Africa
Emerald-cut pale blue aquamarine on white gem paper
Origin

From Sri Lanka and East Africa. The US market wants eye-clean material, so we sort for it at intake, before cutting begins.

Cutting & Papers

Strong in volume work, where the whole parcel must match. Calibrated sizes are cut to order in our own facility.

Bought by manufacturers and designers who need every stone to match.

V

Spinel

Sri Lanka · Ratnapura Fields
Cushion-cut vivid pink spinel on white gem paper
Origin

From Sri Lanka, including the classic Ratnapura fields. Clean, vivid material, bought as rough on the island. Our family has cut Ceylon spinel for three generations.

Cutting & Papers

Cut by the same hands that cut our sapphire. Spinel is almost never treated, and we document that for each stone rather than assume it.

Bought by buyers who moved on spinel before the rest of the market did.

VI

Garnet

Sri Lanka · East Africa
Oval-cut cinnamon hessonite garnet on white gem paper
Origin

Sri Lanka for cinnamon hessonite and rhodolite. East Africa for tsavorite, rhodolite, and malaia, bought from sources we deal with directly.

Cutting & Papers

Our widest price range, held to one grading standard. A commercial parcel and a fine single stone leave the workshop under the same rule.

Bought by jewelers who need a good entry price, and by dealers who know fine tsavorite.

And Beyond

The list is longer than six.

These pass through the same hands, under the same standard:

Yellow Sapphire Pink Sapphire Padparadscha Star Sapphire White Sapphire Zircon Moonstone Cat's Eye Chrysoberyl Rhodolite Tsavorite Hessonite Malaia Garnet

If Sri Lanka produces it, we have cut it. Ask for what you do not see.
